5. Liechtenstein

Liechtenstein is another European country, located between Switzerland and Austria. The main local language is German. The state used to be part of the German Confederation, but then it gained its independence in 1866 and abolished its army two years later. Since then the state has remained neutral. The country is incredibly small – only 160 square kilometers (62 square miles). If you like winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding, Liechtenstein is the right place to practice your favorite hobby. People from every corner of the globe come here to spend their winter vacation.

6. Brunei

Brunei is located on an island. This small Borneo island country is on the north and neighbors with Malaysia. Brunei is a monarchy country ruled by King Hassanal Bolkiah. The same family has been ruling Brunei for the past 600 years. From 15th to 17th centuries the family owned and controlled huge coastal territories. There are nine mountains that range from 775 feet to 3.772 feet. Brunei would make a great place for adventurers and hikers since there are many forests as well. Although the country is tiny, there are a lot of things to see and do: watch the natives, visit Malay Technology Museum or simply enjoy the beautiful scenery. The best time to visit Brunei is between mid-autumn and early spring when it is not too humid and hot.
