In Saudi Arabia people live differently. It’s interesting to find out how they behave and what women are not allowed to do. Times are changing, though.
Nowadays there are women who are elected, for example. However, some certain rules are still applied. Restrictions are set and ladies follow them. Here are the things Arabian women do not do.
1. They cannot leave homes without a male chaperone
In Saudi Arabia women cannot leave home on their own. This tradition has been followed for ages and it is still being followed. Women go shopping and visit their doctors being accompanied by a male chaperone. It is necessary to guard the lady and usually it is done by a male relative. If a girl is spotted without her guardian, she can be punished.
2. They cannot wear clothes or makeup and show them in public
Ladies cannot use clothes and makeup to show off their beauty in public. The Islamic law governs it very strictly and won’t allow women wear sexy outfits. Instead, they wear long black cloaks called ‘abaya’. They cover their heads with scarves, too. Some are allowed to show their faces, but wearing too much makeup is not appropriate in Saudi Arabia. Women are supposed to look modest and humble rather than attractive.
