Unfortunately, the number of people who are diagnosed with diabetes is constantly growing. The good news is that it all depends on us.
We can change our habits to become healthier and prevent this problem by eating the right products and staying active.
1. Mediterranean Food
Once people realized how healthy Mediterranean food is, it has spread all around the globe. The menu includes lots of dishes where one of the most important ingredients is virgin olive oil. Olives are rich in antioxidants. They provide your body with polyphenols. These compounds are found abundantly in olive oil as well as in a few other plants. Consume about four tablespoons of virgin olive oil per day and exclude vegetable oil, butter and other less healthy fats.
2. Dark Chocolate
Sweet stuff should find its place in your menu. It would be too boring to be on a diet that contains sweets. You can have some dessert. Simply substitute milk chocolate with its dark version. You can improve your insulin sensitivity if you make this change. Dark chocolate is known to reduce blood pressure. Your blood vessel flow will also be improved. Consume dark chocolate in moderation since it contains lots of calories.
