As you age, your strands go salt-and-pepper. Some of us find this attractive while others dye their hair in order to hide gray hair. Scientists carry out research trying to invent something that would prevent hair from graying.
This is what they already know:
1. The biggest culprit is normal aging.
This fact has been known for ages. The phenomenon is also called the “50-50-50” rule. It means that 50% of people have 50% of gray hair when they are at their 50’s. Besides hair, skin also keeps aging.
2. Our ethnicity makes a difference.
It is not yet clear why, but people who tend to go gray earlier usually belong to Caucasians. Asians is the next ethnic group. The last people to go gray are African-Americans.
