Perspectives that Hollywood offers women of color has never been too promising. Being of an African origin, Lupita Nyong’o has her own mind regarding this issue. She is proud of her roots and she is sure that the situation is changing. The proof is the fact that she was given one of the most substantial roles right at the beginning of her career. She is thankful to God and her parents for giving her all that she has right now. Not once has she been named the most attractive lady in the world.

When asked whom she most admires and regards beautiful, Lupita said that her idol is Alek Wek. Lupita admits that Alek‘s appearance on the international scene gave her confusing feelings. She adores Wek for her talent and beauty but at the same time she sees her as a rival and opponent. On the other hand, Lupita likes the challenge and, knowing that there is a strong competitor, she strives to be even better at what and who she is which doesn’t let her stagnate.
