5. Vitamin D for Older Children
Drinking milk does not guarantee that you provide your body with sufficient amount of vitamin D. Teenagers and older kids might need supplements. One of the ways to get all necessary vitamins is to take chewable multivitamins. Pay attention if your child gets enough D, especially if he or she is diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Consult your doctor and ask for advice.
6. Vitamin D prevents Colon Cancer
Vitamin D cannot be considered the best treatment of colon cancer. However, recent research suggests that individuals with lower levels of vitamin D in their blood might have a higher risk for colon cancer.
