There are a number of reasons why you may be suffering from headaches. Their nature can be very different. Try out the following home remedies before you waste money on pills.
1. Massages and pressing
There are special nerves between the forefinger and your thumb. If you press on them, they will send some certain signal to the area in your brain where headaches form. Massage the base of that spot. Apply a circular motion. Firmly press while rubbing the area. Keep on pressing for several minutes. Then switch hands. Keep doing it till you feel the pain has disappeared.
2. Take a couple of throb stoppers
Ginger is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. However, it has long been used to treat headaches too. Here is what you can do: grind up ? of teaspoon of ginger, put it in a glass of water, stir and drink the mix. You can also put one teaspoon if the headache is sever. Use hot water and let it cool first, then drink the ‘juice’. It is not clear how ginger reduces headaches. But this method is really effective. Researchers claim that this plant has an impact on prostaglandins – these substances are similar to hormones and contribute to inflammation. The nausea that accompanies headaches can also be treated with ginger drinks.
