There are a few reasons why TV can affect your sleep and cause insomnia. First, television programs stimulate you mentally. Plus they prevent our bodies from producing enough melatonin, the hormone which is needed for good sleep. This applies to other electronic devices as well. If you enjoy browsing the net or chatting with your friends before going to bed, then you do damage to yourself. It is much harder to fall asleep after an exciting video game.
