7 Affordable and Healthy Foods to Eat Every Day

We spend a lot of money on food and drink. But what do we usually pay for? Is the food we spend our money on really healthy? Some might say that healthy food is more expensive.

3. Vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers, and fresh mixed greens
You are absolutely right if you think that it is impossible to have a healthy diet if it does not contain vegetables. There are hundreds of various veggies, and some of them might be relatively expensive. Nevertheless, there are very cheap veggies that you can eat every day! First what you should remember is: never buy vegetables in large quantities. Pick 3-4 types only. If you buy a lot of veggies at a time, you will probably throw some of them away since you cannot keep them fresh for too long. You can opt for mixed greens instead of whole because they are sold discounted, especially when they have next to no shelf life.

4. Fruit: oranges, apples and bananas
Exotic fruit that is sold by the piece can be expensive. Luckily, the most basic fruits, such as bananas, apples, oranges are always available and affordable. Even if you are trying to save money, you can still enjoy fresh fruits every day. Let your diet be full of vitamins, fiber and minerals – eat fruits raw, bake them and add them to your breakfast smoothies. You can also add them to salads, desserts and plain yogurt. Most of the fruits can be squeezed into fresh juice. The fruit that cannot be kept for too long would be bananas – do not buy too many of them so that later on you wouldn’t need to throw them away.
