3. Artificial Sweeteners
There are thousands of patients suffering from diabetes who replace regular sugar with artificial sweeteners. They add them to favorite drinks and foods. Artificial sweeteners are also popular among those who want to lose weight. Both groups think that they have made the right decision. Actually, artificial sweeteners are hardly any better than sugar! Yes, you can cheat your stomach with artificial stuff, but your brain will always detect it and will make you crave for candies and donuts. There are plenty of research that have already been carried out to prove how harmful aspartame and other artificial substances are.
4. Highly smoked, pickled, or salted foods
Nitrites and nitrates are added to some certain foods in order to make their shelf life longer. They preserve food and add color to it. Nitrates are said to cause cancer once they are consumed. Our body cannot digest them the right way and our body cells start mutation. If you want to stay healthy, try to avoid foods that are cured with nitrates and nitrites. Also, we recommend you should exclude smoked meats and other foods from your menu. The problem is that the tar from the smoke is absorbed by most foods and, as we all know, tar causes cancer. Do not buy smoked sausages, bologna, bacon and salami – besides being smoked, they are heavily salted and very fatty. Pickled foods are not advised either.
