1. Lima Beans

Not all legumes are equally healthy for people. One of the most commonly used legumes is the lima bean. They are usually served in mixed vegetables, soups and pastas. These pale green beans are safe enough, but only if you know how to cook them. Do not eat this legume raw. This type of food contains a lot of cyanide. The plan produces this substance to protect itself. Unfortunately, it is a poisonous chemical. The food industry regulates commercially grown beans. They monitor cyanide levels and sell lima beans that are safe to eat.

2. Rhubarb

Avoid the leafy green that rhubarbs come with. The stalks of the plant are safe and do not contain any kind of poison. But the leaves are dangerous and should not be consumed. The corrosive and oxalic acid compound found in the leaves of the plant is nephrotoxic. The same compound can be found in bleach and metal cleaners. Another dangerous compound that the leaves contain is anthraquinone glycoside. This element causes gastric pain, diarrhea, vomiting and other unpleasant symptoms.
