7. Granola Bars
You didn’t expect to see granola bars to be included in the list of the deadliest foods, did you? We know that nowadays people eat them hoping that these snacks will help them maintain healthy weight and good shape. Most of those who are still learning to live a healthy lifestyle might believe that the best food that can help them restore strength and power is a granola bar right after they leave the gym. That’s a bad decision and you should never eat granola bars after exercise because this food contains sodium, trans fats and corn syrup. There are too many ingredients that your body is incapable of digesting. Instead of a granola bar we recommend you should snack on berries, fruits, vegetables or plain yogurt.
8. Processed meats
Talk to more experienced athletes and fitness experts and you’ll see that all of them will insist you should stop eating bacon, salami, ham and other types of processed meats. Actually, this stuff should never be consumed – neither before nor after workout. They are full of chemicals, preservatives and additives. There is too much salt in them and after eating ham or bacon you usually feel thirsty. Build muscle by eating lean meat like turkey, chicken or fish. Prepare your meals at home so that you know what ingredients you add to your dishes.
