During a virus outbreak people tend to panic. How effective is that? Of course it does not help at all. Luckily, you can be smarter and, instead of shaking with fear, you can protect yourself and your family by following the simple steps listed below.

Stop touching your face and start washing your hands more often

Avoid touching your eye, nose or mouth. Your face must not be touched during a virus outbreak. Doctors insist all people should wash their hands more frequently. Use warm water and antibacterial soap on a daily basis. Explain to your kids how important it is to change their habits. Teach them to wash and keep their bodies perfectly clean. This simple step can reduce the risk of diarrheal and respiratory diseases. If you ignore this rule, your family members as well as you may be less resistant to viruses.

Avoid all sorts of contact with sick individuals

Sick people cannot make you any healthier. On the contrary, if they are suffering from virus, it is very likely that those they get in physical touch with will also catch the virus. Infected people should isolate themselves from others and do all possible to keep safe distance from healthy individuals and especially children. This is not always possible to follow and do since you can meet infected people while travelling by bus, train, plane, etc. You are lucky if you can book a private jet, but most of us cannot afford it.
