5 Foods Not to Be Stored in the Fridge

The refrigerator is not the best place to store some certain foods.

3. Potatoes
Most farmers would agree that potatoes should be put in a cool place. It’s even better if the place is dry and dark. It is a well-established fact that potatoes kept in the fridge change in many ways. The starch turns into sugar much quicker and the vegetable tastes different. Do not keep potatoes in paper or plastic bags. The best way to store spuds is to keep them unwashed in a ventilated cardboard container.

4. Tuna
If you only buy fresh fish, then that’s a different story. Fresh fish must be kept frozen at all times. But it all changes if you purchase canned fish. One of the most popular kinds is canned tuna. Only if the can is opened should you keep the fish in the fridge. If it is still unsealed, it is perfectly all right to store canned tuna and any other sort of fish outside of the cooler.  Use your cupboard or pantry for the food.
