4. African Pouched Rat
African counties and especially its Saharan part know how dangerous tuberculosis is. It is one of the diseases that many Africans have been suffering from for centuries. Out of one hundred thousand, almost three hundred people are diagnosed with this health issue. Luckily, there is an animal called the African pouched rat that is said to be able to sense tuberculosis in a person’s saliva. According to the studies accomplished by the World Health Organization, rats can do it far more effectively that the current smear tests carried out in labs. It is wonderful news since rats can be used in clinics and hospitals that cannot afford expensive equipment. More than that, the same creature can detect landmines. No doubt it will be deadly for rats, however, they will help us save hundreds of peoples’ lives.
