Pregnancy can be risky, exhausting, and daunting. Only few women go through it without any worries at all. Younger women can conceive and give birth more easily.

However, older women do give birth too. Of course pregnancy increases health issues when you are over 40. Another thing that might stop an older lady from becoming a mom is that she might be misunderstood by her family members and friends. It’s quite challenging to become a mother when other women of the same age are already grandmothers.

1. Rajo Devi Lohan

One of the oldest women who gave birth is reported to be Rajo Devi Lohan. This woman became a mother when she was 69. Her baby girl Naveen was born in an Indian village, in 2008. The complications that followed the daughter’s birth were extremely serious and Rajo Devi Lohan needed a special treatment that allowed doctors to save her life.

2. Omkari Panwar

When Omkari Panwar was 40 years old, she gave birth to twins – a girl and a boy. The couple was so desperate to have a son, that they pursued IVF in order to become parents again. The couple then had two daughters. The IVF treatment that the mother needed made the family spend their family savings on the procedure. They also asked for a loan to help their dream come true.
