5. Kronborg Castle in Denmark. This great castle was created in the 15th century. First it was the most significant fortifications located in Northern Europe. You can find the building on the Island of Zealand. William Shakespeare mentioned it in Hamlet where the castle is known as Elsinore. Till 1938 the castle was not open to the public. It is also known that the structure was used by the military in the beginning of the 20th century.
6. Chateau de Versailles in France. There is hardly anyone who would have never heard of this castle. Millions of tourists visit the building when they come to France. The castle was created by Louis XIV who made it the new center of the French Government. You can reach the castle by train – it is just 1 hour away from the capital city of Paris. The building consists of over 2000 rooms and almost 70 staircases.
