5. Focusing on Your Final Destination
All you actually can do on board is to keep yourself distracted. This is the only thing you can practice to get rid of stress, tension and anxiety. Focus on your final destination. Look through the picture, watch a movie about the place you are flying to or imagine the things that you’re about to see and experience and people you will soon meet.
6. Memorize a Poem, Song, Book Passage
Learn something by heart. Memorize a poem or a new song. Not only will you make yourself more educated, you will also forget that you are up in the air. The very minute you feel your fear returning, start repeating the song, poem or passage to yourself. Do it in your head or, if your neighbor doesn’t mind, let them hear the piece you’ve memorized.
