5. Different Expectations
Sharing the same expectations is another aspect to bear in mind while creating a long-distance relationship or maintaining the relationship you are in now. Ask each other what the separation means and see how different your answers are. Which point of view do you support: the one that tell you that the separation is a test that will make your contact even stronger, or the one that has an idea that when people separate from each other, it gives them the right to hope for a new start by themselves? Only if your feelings and thoughts about the separation are the same can you be sure that your long-distance relationship will work.
6. Obstacles and Separation Issues
No one can predict their own reaction. You need to go through separation first to know how strong you are to survive this period. Some couples respond very well while others do not survive. Communicate with each other and discuss all possible issues that you might be experiencing at the moment. Let each other express their opinions and thoughts. Participate in the discussion and let the two of you find the best solutions.
